- 1 1/3 cups butter at room temperature
- 4 eggs
- dash of salt
- 2 ½ cups Quark
- ¾ cup cream of wheat
- 8 cups water
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1/3 cup sugar
- cinnamon
- ½ stick butter
Cream the butter with a mixer, add eggs and salt. Mix in the Quark, cream of wheat, cover and let rest for 20 minutes. Bring the water to boil and add the salt. Cut tablespoon sized dumpling from the dough. Drop into the salt water and simmer for 12 minutes. Lift out and let drip dry. Serve hot with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. Alternatively it can be served with stew omitting the butter, sugar and cinnamon.
