- ¾ cup Quark
- 7 Tbsp butter
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla sugar or 1 pack Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar
- 4 Tbsp chopped hazelnuts
- 1 shot glass rum, or 1 tsp rum flavor
- rind of ½ lemon
- salt
- 1 pound of apples
Mix Quark, butter, sugar, flour, salt, and lemon rind and let rest for one hour. Spread tough about ¾” thick onto cookie sheet. Chop apples and line on top of dough. Mix egg yolks, vanilla sugar, nuts, and rum. Beat egg whites until stiff, and mix under the egg yolk mixture. Spread over apples. Sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 350F until done.
