Oven Baked Quark Doughnuts

Dough:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 ½ tsp dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 dash of salt
  • 1/3 cup warm milk

Filling:

  • 2 ½ cups Quark
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • some lemon juice and rind
  • 1/3 cup nuts or almonds
  • 1/3 cup raisins

Proof the yeast in milk and a little bit of flour. Mix in rest of dough and let rise. Mix ingredients for filling. Divide dough into 8-10 pieces. Form patties with an indentation in the center. Put some of the filing into it and close up into a ball. Grease and ovenproof dish and put in doughnuts touching each other. Let rise for 15 minutes. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Serve with fruits, vanilla sauce or fruit juice.
